During the feelings activity for preschool children they will learn, feelings and emotions form an integral part of being human. Humans are entitled to their emotions, however how one express your emotions, is what is important.
The children should be made aware of the fact that humans should make a conscious decision to act just and respectable at all times. The children need to identify their emotions and know why they feel that way, and take responsibility for their behavior.
Materials: - fun-is-a-feeling
- Pictures of faces indicating different emotions, and expressions.
- Poem.
- Mask portraying different facial expressions.

Procedure:- The teacher should indicate the different facial expressions on the pictures and ask the children to describe each facial expression, and identify the emotion.
- The teacher should discuss with the children weather they had experience the emotions before. Let them speak about their emotions how they felt and how they reacted.
- The teacher should identify the different emotions with the chidlren, and give them options of acceptable behavior, for example: when you get angry, your entitled to your emotions, you are not a bad person because you feel angry, but how you react when angry is what matters most.
- You are not entitled to bite your brother, sister or friend. You may have the need to express your anger and feelings, you may run outside and shout at the clouds, or kick your ball against the wall, or tear an old newspaper sheet into pieces.
- The teacher should make suggestions of acceptable behavior for all emotions to the children.
- The children should thereafter be given an opportunity to put on their masks and play act the poem.
Monday's Child: Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace, Wednesday's child is full of woe, Thursday's child has far to go, Friday's child is loving and giving, Saturday's child works hard for its living, And a child that's born on the Sabbath day Is fair and wise and good and gay.
