Circle Time Activity BookDuring the preschool circle time activity the preschool children will improve their general knowledge on living and non living things.

The children will stimulate their visual observation -, and auditory skills.

  2. Colorful Pictures of Living and Non Living Things.
  3. Objects form Class.
  4. Preschool Song on Living Things: "Peter Piper." (Traditional)

Procedure:

  • The teacher will use the orb to indicate the oceans, earth and space.
  • The teacher should indicate to the children the earth provides humans and plants with; water, air and soil, in order for living things to survive, and live on the planet earth.
  • The teacher teaches the children, humans are alive, and therefore need water, air, food and a save place to live.

  • The teacher will teach the children humans and animals have emotions and objects have no emotions.
  • The teacher should show the children colorful pictures of living things like animals, birds, fish, insects, plants, and humans. The teacher should ask the children why these are living things, and what do they have in common.
  • The children will look at pictures of non living objects, and the teacher should ask the pupil to explain why these objects are considered to be non living or lifeless.
  • The teacher should give the children ample time to take part in the class discussion, teaching them organize and express their thoughts.
  • The children will look around the class and name different objects, and place them into the two categories, living and non living objects, for example the books on the shelf fall into the non living category, and the pot plant on the teacher's table falls into the living category.
  • The children will learn the song and sing it together.
