Effective Preschool Holiday Activities
Thanksgiving Activities

The preschool Thanksgiving activities will be creative and enjoyable, developing the children's fine motor -, eye-hand-co-ordination -, and visual observation skills at the same time.

Activity 1:Creating Vegetable Men:

Materials Needed for the Activities:

  1. Large Potatoes.
  2. Large Sweet Potatoes.
  3. Large Carrots.
  4. Other Vegetables for Decoration.
  5. Chopping Board.
  6. Blunt Knife.
  7. Cocktail Sticks.

Procedure:

  • Wash the potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots, and dry them.
  • Push the cocktail sticks into the potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Three sticks will help the vegetable man to stands.
  • Chop the fruit and vegetables which are going to be used as decorations, with the blunt knife on the chopping board.


  • Be creative and add sprouting broccoli for hair, a pointy peace of corn could serve as a nose, baby carrots could serve as arms, and so on.


Activity 2: Autumn Leave Prints: Creating Placemats or Cards.

Materials Needed for the Activity:
  1. Autumn Leaves.
  2. Poster Paint and Paint Brushes.
  3. Cardboard Paper.
  4. the-thank-you-book



Procedure:
  1. The children should collect a wide variety of autumn leaves.
  2. Next, they should use brightly colored paint, painting the leaves different colors.
  3. While still wet the children can print the leaves around the sides on the cardboard paper, creating a printed placemat.
