The preschool play group activity will present the children with a fun singing and movement game, on the farmer in his den!

• 3. The wife wants a child,

• 4. The child wants a nurse,
• The child wants a nurse,

• 5. The nurse wants a dog,
• The nurse wants a dog,

Trad.

• One preschool child stands in the middle of a circle as the "farmer."
• The other preschool children skip around the "farmer", holding hands, and singing the first two verses of the song.
• After the first two verses, the "farmer" chooses a girl to stand in the middle with him, as his "wife."
• The children continue to sing the third verse together.



• The "child" is chosen in the same way, and the singing continues.
• The "dog" is then chosen, and the children loosen their hands, and pat the dog, when standing in the middle with the rest of the "family."
• In the next round the "dog" becomes the new "farmer."
