Number Activity


The preschool number activity will provide the children with learning opportunties, developing their cogintive senses, as well as their visual observation and auditory senses.

Preschool Number Activity:

  • The teacher should start the number activity with fun counting activities. The children should clap their hands on each count, counting from zero to ten, and from ten to zero.
  • The teacher will indicate the numbers on the wall chart, and the pupils will count from 0 - 20. The children will then count from 0 -20, while jumping in the air on each count.
  • The teacher will let the children read the numbers on the number line, and complete the number line, filling in the missing numbers.

  • The preschool children should revise there counting rhymes, indicating the number value in the rhymes, with their fingers.
  • The teacher will teach the children a new number rhyme, practicing the number sequence, and number value.
  • They will be asked to show the number mentioned in the counting rhyme, each time a number is mentioned.


Number Rhyme:

One, two, kittens that mew,

Two, three, birds on a tree,

Three, four, shells on the shore,

Four, five, bees from the hive,

Five, six, the cows that lick,

Six, seven, rocks in the heaven,

Seven, eight, sheep at the gate,

Eight, nine, clothes on a line,

Nine, ten, the little black hen.
