Activity 1: Playing Together: The Catching Game:
Children learn best whiles playing and having fun! A catching game develops a child's eye-hand-co-ordination.
Materials Needed For The Activity:
One Medium Size Ball
Procedure:
Stand opposite one another and practice catching and throwing a ball together.After the practice or warm up session, introduce forfeits when missinga catch.To build the child's confidence, through the ball directly at the child,and not to hard. Make it easy to catch the ball.When the child first misses the ball, let him or her bend down on one knee, and then catch the ball.When the child misses the ball for a second time, let him put one handbehind his or her back.Then the child could bend both knees, and after that the child could lieon his or her back, and through the ball lying down.
This game should be repeated often in order for the child to develop hisor catching skills. Enjoy!
Activity 2: Simon Says:
Movement and social interaction all in one!
Procedure:
You, the parent will stand in front of your child and do actions yourchild will be asked to copy, but only after you said the words: "Simon Says .."For Example; you should say: "Simon Says jump in the air." The child shouldrespond, but if you only say "jump in the air," the child should not respond.Remember all social and physical activities help build a child's cortex.Go for easier to more difficult instructions. Enjoy the time spent together.
Activity 3: Guessing Game:
Imaginary games helps young children stimulate their imaginations,forcing them to think about the unseen and helps them develop logic thinking.
Procedure:
Pretend to be an animal, give your child some glues, and let him or her guess theanimal.
Use your eyes, hands, and body to imitate the shape of the animal, and add sounds for a younger child.Take turns, and let your child use his or her imagination in creating an animal.Be creative, and enjoy the game!
