Preschool and Parent Activities:
The preschool and parent activities will provide the child and parent with stimulating activities which will enjoyed by all and develop the preschool child's perceptual skills at the same time!
Activity 1: Ball in a Blanket:
Games where children share and take turns, help improvepositive social attachments and relationships.
Materials Needed for the Activity:
- Baby Blanket.
- Soft, Medium Size Ball.
Procedure: This is a great outdoor outing for the little ones.Let two children hold the blanket at each end, and toss the ball towards them.The children should try and catch the ball, using the blanket.This is a simple but fun activity for the children to improve theireye-hand-co-ordination.
Activity 2: Treasure Hunt:
Children love all treasure hunt games, and they must fine all the objects, in order to get the treasure!
Materials Needed for the Activity:
- Objects.
- Wrapped "Treasures."
- Paper Cards and Black Marker Pen.
Procedure:
- Start by finding at least 8 objects / toys to hide.
- Wrap the "treasure."
- Cut out 8 paper cards, and draw clues onto each card.
- Place the 8 objects on the trial to the treasure.
- Place a card next to the object indicating the next object to find.
- The game will start by you giving the child a card with a picture ofthe first object to find.
- Watch the child or children follow the clues to the "treasure."
- Enjoy!
Activity 3: Secret Pictures:
All preschool children love to paint, and this simple painting activitywill be enjoyed by both the children and parents. The children will develop their fine motor skills participating in this activity! Materials Needed for the Activity:
- Premixed Colored Paint.
- Paint Brushes.
- Clear Wax Candle.
- White Paper Sheets.
- Pencils for Drawing.
Procedure:
- Draw a pencil drawing on the white paper.
- Use the white candle and draw over the pencil drawing.
- Let the child use the paint brush, dip it in the paint, and paint over the white sheet of paper.
- Magically a picture appears!
- This is a favorite activity for preschool children. Enjoy!
