Preschool Thanksgiving Activities


Thanksgiving Activities for Preschool will be enjoyed, at the same time provide ample opportunities for developing the preschool child's perceptual skills.

Activity 1: Vegetable Seed Boxes.

The children will develop their visual observation skills,as well as their fine motor skills, while having fun, sitcking pumpkin seeds to their boxes.

Materials Needed for the Activity:

  1. 1 Small Cardboard Box.
  2. Pumpkin - and other Vegetable Seeds.
  3. Glue.
  4. a-special-thanks

Procedure:

  • Wash the vegetable seeds and dry them.
  • Glue the vegetable seeds onto the box.


  • After the seeds has dried, spray the box with a clear

    adhesive and let dry once more.

  • Offer your vegetable seed box to someone special this Thanksgiving!


Activity 4: A Thanksgiving Candle:

The children will enjoy creating a Thanksgiving Candle, addingto the feastivities or providing a special Thanksgiving gift!

Materials Needed for the Activity:
  1. Candle.(not to thin.)
  2. Autumn Leaves.
  3. Glue.
  4. Dried Corn Strips.

Procedure:
  • Place the candle onto a doily, or decorative plate.
  • Glue the autumn leaves around the sides of the candle.
  • Take the dried corn strips and tie a bow around the candle.
  • Offer the decorative Thanksgiving candle as a centerpiece for the Thanksgiving Dinner!


Activity 5: Flower Pressing: Creating Cards, Bookmarks, Place Cards, or Lampshades.

The children love making cards, bookmarks or place cards, this simple yetenjoyable activity will provide ample opportunities for the children to stimulate their visual -, oral -, and fine motor muscles.

Materials Needed for the Activity:

  1. Wide variety of Flowers.
  2. Thick Book.
  3. Blotting Paper.
  4. Clear Glue.
  5. Cardboard.
  6. teaching-about-thanksgiving

Procedure:
  • Collect a wide variety of beautiful flowers from the garden.


  • Place between the pages of a thick book, separated with the blotting paper.
  • When the flowers have been dried, start creating a decorative item, for instance, glue the flowers onto small cardboard squares, and write or copy the names of your dinner guests onto the place cards.
