Effective Preschool Math Activities Counting Rhyme Activity

The children will develop their fine motor -, and visual observation skills during the lesson. They will also develop their auditory memories when learning and memorizing the counting rhyme.
Materials: - Number Line 0 - 10.
- 100 Wall Chart.
- Number "10" Rhyme.
- Paint and Paintbrushes.
- Sheets of Paper.

Procedure: - The teacher will start with counting activities. The children will follow the teacher indicating the numbers on the number line, 0 - 10, and from 10 - 0.
- The teacher will ask the children to count form 0 - 10 on the wall chart.
- The children should then count their fingers, from left to right. 5 + 5 = 10.
- The teacher will ask them what other body parts will add up to the number 10? The children should answer their toes. The children should then count their toes: 1 - 10.
- The teacher will introduce the counting rhyme. The children will learn the counting rhyme and repeat other counting rhymes, they have already learnt. Now for the fun part!
- The children will place their sheet of paper on top of newspaper sheets. They will paint their hands with the colored paint and print their hands on the sheets of paper.
- The children should print their left hands first, and then their right hands. The children will count their printed fingers, from the left to the right, from 1 to 10.

One little dicky-bird, Hopped on my shoe; Along came another one, And that made two. Chorus:
Fly to the tree-tops; Fly to the ground; Fly, little dicky-birds, Round and round. Two little dicky-birds, Singing in a tree; Along came another one, And that made three.
