Effective Preschool Fine Motor Activities Development
The preschool child needs to develop fine motor muscles for individual finger strength and finger co-ordination, to beginthe symmetrical training in the use of both hands.
Activity 1: Ping-Pong Ball Activity: Materials Needed For The Activity: - basic-movement-activities
- Ping-Pong Balls.
Procedure: - The children will sit in a circle on the mat, and one child will receive a ping-pong ball.
- The children will move the ball around by flipping the ball, using their thumbs and pointer fingers.
- Next, the children will be asked to bat the ball with the back of their hands, to one another.
- The children will now bat the ball, using the front of their hands.
Activity 2: Balloon Activity: The balloon activity remain a favorite with all children. Materials Needed For The Activity: - Colored Balloons in various sizes.
Procedure:- Each child will receive a blown up, colored balloon.
- The children will be asked to toss the balloons in the air, an hit the balloons to one another, keeping the balloons in the air, using the palms of their hands to hit the balloons. Enjoy!
Activity 3: Finger Exercises: Many preschool children need to develop their finger accuracy as well as develop control over theireye hand muscles, and therefore their eye hand co-ordination. Materials Needed For The Activity: - Bean Bags.
- The children will clap their fingertips together. Repeat 10x
- The children will be asked to snap their fingertips together. Repeat until proficient.
- Each child will receive a bean bag and through the bean bag from one hand to the other, keeping their heads still, and following the bean bag from side to side with their eyes. Repeat a few times.
