Effective Preschool Cooking Activities

  • Train Copper Cookie Cutter 3 Piece Set

  • The children will enjoy participating in these enjoyable cookingactivities, at the same time developing their visual observation and fine motor musles!

  • Activity 1: Cup Cakes with Rice Pops!

    Ingredients needed for this Cooking Activity:

    1. 100 g (4 oz) Margarine.
    2. 100 g (4 oz) Marshmallows.
    3. 200 g (7 oz) Rice Pops.
    4. Half a Tin of Condensed Milk.
    5. Colored Paper Cup Cake Cases.
    6. Saucepan.
    7. Mixing Bowl and Wooden Spoon.
    8. Colored Sprinkles for Decoration.

    Method:

    • Heat the margarine, marshmallows, condensed milk, on a low, stir and combine the ingredients.
    • Put the Rice Pops in a mixing bowl and pour the sweet mixture over and stir to combine the ingredients.
    • Spoon the sticky Rice pop mixture into the colored cup cakes cases.
    • Sprinkle with a bit of the colored sprinkles for extra effect!
    • Place in the fridge, or in a cool place for a while and enjoy!



    Activity 2: Vanilla Fudge:

    This is another very effective, simple favorite!

    No cooking needed!


  • Ingredients:

    1. 175 g (6 oz) Soft Butter.
    2. 175 g (6 oz) of Condensed Milk.
    3. 900 g (2 lb) Sieved Icing Sugar.
    4. Colored Chocolate Candy Buttons.
    5. Pastry Board.
    6. Rolling Pin.
    7. Wire Rack.

    Method:

    • Place the softened butter into a mixing bowl and add the condensed milk. Stir, while adding the sieved icing sugar, gradually.
    • When the ingredients have been combined, place it mixture on a pastry board and knead into a smooth dough like consistency.
    • Roll out the fudge into a thickness of 1 cm (half an inch), using the rolling pin.
    • Cut the fudge with a blunt knife into neat squares and place on a pretty plate to present.
    • For a final touch, place a single colored chocolate button on top of each fudge square!


    Activity 3: Fried Bananas!

    The simple cooking activity is enjoyed by all preschool children who has participated in the activity!

    Ingredients:

    1. Bananas, peeled and sliced.
    2. Soft Butter.(a teaspoon will do)
    3. Saucepan and Spatula.
    4. Ice Cream for Spice!
    5. Bowls and Spoons.
    6. Choclate Sprinkles.

    Method:

    • Preheat the saucepan with the butter melting.
    • Place the sliced banana wheels into the saucepan.
    • Fry until soft and place into the bowl.
    • Add a scoop of ice cream, and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles for extra flavor and effect! Enjoy!
