  • They will be advised to draw the faces, noses, mouths, eyes, for instance, using their triangular shaped pencils.

  • When satisfied with their drawings, they can start cutting out the different facial features.
  • Teeth, moustaches and beards are optional for the faces.
  • The children should then place all the features on the clown face, and space them, when satisfied they can glue the parts to the faces.
  • The children could make a fringe and glue it to the top of the clowns face.
  • Ears are also optional. However they are fun to do. The children can use a square piece of paper and divide it in half. They can glue the rectangle halves to each side of the clowns face, more or less next to the eyes.

  • They could make use of a black marker pen to add additional detail such as eyebrows, eye lashes, or moulds.
  • The teacher should assist the preschoolers to punch holes at the sides of the face, towards the middle of the sides, where strings could be attached to fasten the masks around their heads.
  • They should have play time to act as clowns, wearing their masks. Enjoy!
