Preschool Bible Lesson and Activity:

Theme: Police Week.

Subject: Bible.

Grade Level: Preschool.

Topic: Jesus is coming like a thief in the night.

Duration: 45 Minutes.

Description:

The preschool children will learn that Jesus warns us: He will come like a thief in the night, implying He will be coming unexpectedly.

Jesus will not come to the earth with an invitation or bynotifing people who consciously choose a sinful life.

Jesus wants people to choose Him, and lead the life of a person who has chosen Jesus and live in His presence.

A police officers' duty is to see to it that people obey the law. Jesus wants people to make the correct choice themselves.

Goals:

1. They will learn the fruits of love, and shareing the fruits of love with people.
2. Jesus will come unexpectedly, and we should make the right choice, and live accordingly.
3. The children will stimulate and develop their auditory-,eye-hand-co-ordination, and fine motor skills during the lesson.

1. The children will learn what the fruits of love are: forgiveness, caring, sharing, honesty, love for one another.
2. The children will learn they have a choice, and their lives will be testament to the choice they made.
3. They will improve their listening -, eye-hand-co- ordination -, and fine motor skills.

• The teacher will start the lesson by praying, and giving the children an opportunity to join the teacher in prayer.
• The teacher and children will join in song praise and worshipping the Lord. The children enjoy the action bible songs and should be encouraged to put actions to the words and music.
• The teacher will read from the bible, the New Testament, Matthew 24:43: But understand this: If an owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
• The teacher should explain to the children, the most important job a police officer has, is ensuring the safety of people in their homes, and the safe keeping of their possessions.



• Jesus says to the people that we do not know when He will return to earth.
• When Jesus returns He will take us back to God with Him.
• Jesus wants us to live our lives in such a way that we will be ready to meet God, although we do not know when that will be.
• The teacher should ask the children in what way they can assist the police officer in making their duties easier.
• The teacher will explain, the Lord expects obedience from us. The children should listen to their parents and teachers.
• The teacher should explain to the children to have the fruits of love is to love oneself and others, to forgive to be an honest person, to share with others, to respect people and their possessions, and to obey Gods' laws.
• The children will have an opportunity to draw the "fruits of love", cut out, color, paint and place them in their fruit baskets.
• They will draw a strawberry, for example, as the fruit of righteousness, an orange as the fruit of love, and an apple as the fruit of forgiveness.

Conclusion:

The preschool children would have learnt what the fruits of love are, and how we can experience them in our lives. They would have learnt they have a choice to choose God and to live their lives according to His laws. The children would have stimulated their auditory - , eye-hand-co-ordination, and fine motor skills during the lesson.
