Effective Preschool Art Activities Rabbit Art Activities
This preschool rabbit activity will stimulate the children's fine motor - , and visual observation skills. The children will have to follow the step by step instructions closely, in order for them to experience success!
Activity 1:
Creating Pom-Pom Rabbits: Materials needed for the Activity: - Ball of White or Yellow Wool.
- Circle Templates to Trace onto Paper.
- Cardboard.
- Scissors and Glue.
- Triangular Shaped Pencils. (for improving the child's grip)

Procedure: - The children will start by tracing the circle templates onto the cardboard.
- Cut out two circle templates and glue it onto the cardboard.
- Cut out the circle templates once again, but this time from the cardboard.
- Glue the two pieces together, in order to create one a firm template.
- The children will start by gluing the end of the wool to the inside of the circle template.
- Wind the wool round the templates, quite tightly together, covering the whole template.
- The children are advised to work in a clockwise direction.
- Fasten the end of the wool into a knot.
- To remove the pompom from the template, cut the wool around the edges loose working the scissors between the two templates.
- Loosly knot the wool ends.
- Carefully draw the loose pieces of wool together until the wool lifts from the templates.
- Make a tight knot to secure the wool.
- Now cut the template away form the pompom.
- The children should make a few pompoms and decide how to make and decorate their rabbits, combining two pompoms, creating a rabbit.
Activity 2: Creating a Fun Rabbit Card: The fun rabbit card is a simple activity but is always a favorite! The preschool children will stimulate and develop their fine motor skills and improve their eye-hand-co-ordinationwhen doing the activity. Materials needed for the Activity: - Yellow Cardboard for Card.
- Scissors.
- Paint and Paintbrushes.
- Black Marker Pen.
- Rabbit Template.
- Triangular Shaped Pencils. (ideal for improving the child's pencil grip)

Procedure: - The children will start the activity by tracing the rabbit template onto the yellow cardboard.
- Cut out the rabbit after it has been traced onto the cardboard.
- Next, fold the cardboard rabbit card exactly in half.
- Add color and effect by using the paint and the paint brushes to further decorate their rabbits.
- They should draw whiskers, eyes and noses, using the black marker pen. Have fun!
