The preschool alphabet ideas and activities will provide the children with fun learning activities, teaching them moreabout the alphabet, stimulating their eye-hand-co-ordination and fine motor skills .

2. Sandbox.
3. Cardboard Paper.
4. Black Felt Pen.
5. Wax Crayons.
6. Colored Paint.
7. Popped Popcorn. (Colored for Effect.)

8. Clear Glue.
9. Alphabet Song C D and C D Player.

• The teacher or parent should "sound" the alphabet letters out loud when demonstrating the different alphabet letter formations to the children. They should copy the teacheror parent.
• Let the child or children sit in a circle, around the sandbox on the mat.
• Indicate the alphabet letters formation, by writing the letters in the sand.



• Give the children the opportunity to explore with different textures when practicing writing the alphabet letters in their names.

• After the children had tried writing their names in the sand, show them how their names are written on the cardboard paper, using a black felt pen.
• Let each child trace their name over the black felt pen images, first using their fingers and then with the colored paint and then the wax crayons.
• The children could also "write" their names in the air.
• The following activity will be enjoyed by all children. Use the colored popped popcorn to glue onto the alphabet letters written on the cardboard paper.



• At all times the correct alphabet letter formation should be emphasized and followed.
• There are a variety of lovely alphabet letter songs available, teach the childrena song on the alphabet and letthem sing the song together. Enjoy!
