Activity on Seeds and Plants Preschool:
Activity on seeds and plants will be enjoyed by the preschool children! They will learn how plants grow from seeds in this fun activity. The children will stimulate their visual observation, and auditory skills, and develop their cognitive skills, during the activity.
Materials: - Cotton Wool, and Containers for Seeds.
- Bean Seeds.
- Sheets of Paper.
- Triangular Shaped Profile Pencils.(Ideal for improving the young child's pencil grip.)
- Flower Pots and Potting Soil.
- ten-seeds
Procedure:
- The teacher should show the children an example of a fully grown bean plant, and then the little seed from which it has grown.
- The teacher should let the children get to work, starting by dampening their cotton wool, and placing their bean seeds in the middle of two layers of damp cotton wool.
- The children should place the cotton wool and bean seeds in a container, and place it on a window sill or any warm, sunny spot.
- They will be taught to take care of their seeds over a period of time. The teacher could assist them, drawing the different growth stages of the plants, as they grow.
- The children could plant their little plants into flower pots, until it needs to be planted into a vegetable patch.
